The Chromatic Chronicles Parts 1 and 2

The chromatic harmonica has always been a huge blind spot for me. I’ve always been curious but it seemed a like one of those “not enough hours in the day” things, so I always concentrated on diatonic.

This year I’m going to try and address the issue, and force myself to become a competent chromatic player. I’ve got a few reasons for this which I discuss in the video below, but the most important is that I want to document the process of learning.

I sometimes wonder if beginning students get a bit overwhelmed when they’re struggling to learn and start to think it’s maybe not for them. What you never see is the hundreds of hours musicians dedicate to their craft.

So I’m going to expose myself a little and fail in public in the hope that it might inspire confidence in my students (and anybody else).

So without further ado, I present the first two videos in my new series The Chromatic Harmonica Chronicles.

I’ll be adding all the future videos to this playlist.
