NHL International Festival
Very happy this year to be attending the NHL International Harmonica Festival. It runs this weekend (16th-18th August 2019) at Hartpury College Campus, Gloucester. I’ll be there for the full day on Saturday.
For those who don’t know, the National Harmonica League are, in their own words…
…Britain’s national harmonica association, with members world wide, and a registered charity, supporting, helping and encouraging the playing of all types of music on the chromatic, diatonic, tremolo, octave, bass, chord and orchestral harmonicas.
The NHL is in the middle of changing their name to HarmonicaUK, which is frankly much better.
The festival is packed with workshops and jams. Instructors include Liam Ward, Ed Hopwood, Will Pound, Joe Powers, harp-tech John Cook, and more. There’s also an all-star concert on Saturday night.
Reasonably priced accommodation is on-site, and I daresay there are still some last-minute places available. Should be an interesting weekend. I’ll report back afterwards, hopefully with some fun pics and audio.
